Zebrawood Beauty!

As promised, we wanted to post a few photos of a project completed a little while ago (see original post here). For this guitar we used quartersawn zebrawood. The body shape is our “Solo” design with a rounded neck heel, Jackson-style horns and cutaways, with a slightly different radius, and a Suhr-style forward rake on the back contour of the body.

We chose to outfit this guitar with satin brass hardware inclusive of a DiMarzio Steve’s Special in the bridge position and a Joe PAF in the neck position. The covers on these pickups are a perfect match for the satin-brass Floyd Rose original recess mounted. We thought the satin brass would go well with the hues in the wood. Volume and tone pots are 500K ohm CTS. There is a 3-way Switchcraft toggle switch. Input is via a PurTone 4-point jack and the machine heads are courtesy of GraphTech Ratio locking tuners.

The neck is forged from maple with a black ebony fingerboard, jumbo stainless steel frets and a Gotoh truss rod with side, fine adjustment. The head stock is a reverse, “Warhead” style.

We’re happy to report that our customer is over the moon! So are we.
